Executive Board

Paul Melamed
Chairman of the BOARD

In 1999 Paul Melamed has graduated from the University of Leeds (UK) acquiring a BA in Management Studies. Master's degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking was obtained in 2000 from the University of Reading’s ICMA Centre. Paul has held various roles in the financial services industry over a period spanning more than 13 years. These included FX interbank trading and dealing, fund management and proprietary trading roles in a number of Latvian banks and financial companies. In 2007 he was appointed as a member of the board of Aquarium Investments. He became a partner in Aquarium Investments in 2014. In 2019 was appointed as a chairman of the board and holds this position to this day. 

Roman Popov, CFA, CAMS
Member of the BOARD

In 2007 Roman Popov graduated from the University of Latvia (Riga, Latvia) with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. The following year he earned a Master's degree in finance and Investment from the University of Brighton (Brighton, UK). During 2009-2010 Roman worked as a financial market analyst in Rietumu Bank. Afterwards he joined Aquarium Investments in the role of asset manager. In 2015, Roman was elected member of the board of Aquarium Investments, a position he still occupies.

Kristina Savinska
Member of the BOARD

Kristina Savinska has graduated from the Riga Technical University, where studied Financial Information Technologies. Has more than 10 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting of financial institutions. In 2014 joined Aquarium Investments in the role of chief accountant.

Council

Michael J.Bourke
Chairman of the Council

Graduated from University College Dublin with Bachelor of Commerce Degree and acquired Fellowship of Associated Chartered Certified Accountants and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK Stock Exchange). Over the multi-decade professional career, Mr. Bourke has held various positions in Central Bank of Ireland, International Monetary Fund and Bank of Latvia. From 1997 to 2006 he was a President and CEO of Rietumu bank - one of the largest banks in Latvia. Also Mr. Bourke served on the boards of a number of large financial services institutions - Parex/Reverta, State Street Bank, DMC Latvia and Evenkeel Family Office.

Jelena Popova
Deputy Chairman of the Council

Graduated from University of Latvia Faculty of Economics with distinction. Attained Professional Diploma in Financial Services Management from Institute of Financial Services London, UK. Jelena has got more than 25 years of experience in financial services working as a VP of Rietumu Bank, managing several departments including private and corporate banking, operations and client services. She joined Aquarium Investments in 2019 becoming a shareholder and deputy chairman of the council. Her experience. professionalism and vision provide immense value in strategic direction of the company.

Dmitry Kroutick
member of the Council

In 1997 Dmitry Kroutick graduated from the Social Technologies Institute, Latvia. In 1995 Mr Kroutick joined Rietumu Bank, where in 1998 occupied the position of head of brokerage department. Between 2006 and 2013 he worked as the vice president and head of securities and financial markets department at Rietumu Bank. Currently he is member of the council at Aquarium Investments.

Aquarium Investments is officially registered in the Enterprise Register of the Republic of Latvia and has got all the necessary licenses for the investment services provision.
